A Federal Revenue Service On Monday (17), a large seizure was carried out at the Port of Itapoá and at the Fastcargo Integrated Logistics Center (CLIF), both in Itapoá, on the North Coast of SC.
In total, 45 containers with imported goods destined for informal trade in the state of São Paulo were seized. The estimated value of the containers is over R$$ 50 million. According to the Federal Revenue Service, the scheme involving shell companies was set up to pay less taxes and disguise the real buyer of the goods, thus attempting to evade inspection.
It was the largest seizure ever recorded in the Southern region of the country, the second largest seizure by the agency in the last ten years, and the fifth largest in history.
The Federal Revenue Service informed that yesterday, Wednesday (19), it would organize a press conference, and on that occasion the opening of a container with the seized cargo would be carried out.
