The main taxes that are exempt or suspended under the drawback regime are the Tax on Industrialized Products (IPI); Import Tax (II); Additional Freight for the Renewal of the Merchant Marine (AFRMM); and Tax on Operations related to the Circulation of Goods and on the Provision of Interstate and Intermunicipal Transportation and Communication Services (ICMS).

SECEX Ordinance No. 44, which was the subject of public consultation between February and April of this year, also eliminates unnecessary transaction costs, creates incentives for more companies to use this special regime, and opens opportunities for newcomers to international trade.

The regulation was published in the Official Gazette of the Union and the measure will come into effect in 30 days.
