
The Special Secretariat for Foreign Trade and International Affairs of the Ministry of Economy (Secint/ME) reduced, as of this Wednesday (07/08/2019), 17 import tariffs on products that were on the List of Exceptions to the Common External Tariff (Letec) of Mercosur.
According to the Undersecretariat for Commercial Strategy of the Executive Secretariat of the Foreign Trade Chamber (SE/Camex) of the Ministry of Economy, the objective is to reduce the production costs of companies established in Brazil and the price of products for consumers.
The list of reduced rates includes:
– Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, (NCM 8532.22.00): from 16% to 4%;
– Circuit breakers (NCM 8536.20.00): from 18% to 8%;
– Equipped with connecting parts (NCM 8544.42.00): from 16% to 8%;
– Sanitary napkins and tampons, diapers and baby diapers and similar sanitary articles, of any material (NCM 9619.00.00): from 16% to 12%;
– Other (premium) “Otto cycle” engines used in motor vehicles (NCM 8407.34.90): from 18% to 2%;
– Forged aluminum wheels used in trucks and buses (NCM 8708.70.90): from 18% to 2%;
– Sheets and strips, clad or plated on one or both sides, with sheets of different aluminum alloys (NCM 7606.12.90) used for the manufacture of various components in the automotive industry, in heat exchangers that make up air conditioning, water and air radiators, coolers, condensers and heaters: from 12% to 2%;
