Brazil was mentioned by World Customs Organization and received congratulations from the Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization for its accession to the Revised Kyoto Convention.

The Convention deals with the simplification and harmonization of customs procedures, enacted in Brazil by Legislative Decree No. 56, of June 18, 2019. Currently, 120 countries have already acceded to the Convention.

RKC's guidelines include the application of simplified customs procedures in an environment of greater predictability and transparency; the use of information technologies; the use of risk management for effective customs control; and a relationship of trust between international partners and stakeholders, elements that are already integrated into the strategic map and value chain of RFB's customs work processes.

The approved instrument, in addition to being a clear international demonstration of the country's commitment to simplifying and harmonizing customs procedures as a form of global integration, also embodies international best practices in this area.

As a signatory to the RKC, Brazil will receive support in its pursuit of developing international trade and fostering economic competitiveness.
