The National Council of Justice (CNJ), together with the Federal Revenue Service, created a technical group to produce a diagnosis of the problem of disputes between the tax authorities and taxpayers.
The ultimate goal is the creation of a tax procedure code, which must be sent to the National Congress by the president of the CNJ and the Supreme Federal Court, Minister Luiz Fux.
Currently, Brazil does not have unified legislation, and the intention is that the procedure eventually established will also be valid for states and municipalities, bringing greater rationality to the system, which is currently dispersed across different laws, and making life easier for taxpayers and tax administrations, with the aim of creating greater legal certainty.
