Finance Minister Dario Durigan said that in two or three years, Brazilian taxpayers will no longer need to file income tax returns. This change, if confirmed, is due to adjustments being implemented by the federal government to automate procedures.

The request submitted by the minister to the Federal Revenue Service calls for the integration of data already available in official and private databases, such as banking information, company records, and health plan data.

Currently, the pre-filled tax return already includes data such as income, assets, investments, and deductions. The government's proposal is to gradually expand this model until manual submission is no longer necessary.
